We are seeking a male* driver Wellbeing Practitioner to support a lively young man who receives 24/7 support from Thistle.
He has a big personality, a great sense of humour, and thrives with understanding. He is energetic and participates in activities that promote his autonomy, including contact with animals, which is a significant part of his life. He also enjoys sports such as walking, cycling, fishing, trampolining, and boat trips. Household duties and personal care are part of the routine, which you will support and encourage. Occasionally, challenging situations may arise, requiring patience, attention, and teamwork to ensure his safety and well-being.
This role is fun, rewarding, and challenging.
Ideal candidates will have a good sense of humour, patience, resilience, understanding, excellent communication skills, and planning ability. Experience with Autism and alternative communication methods is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided. A kind, curious, reliable nature, and a big heart are essential to support this young man effectively.
You will join a dedicated team that works closely to ensure he leads a high-quality life, with regular meetings to plan and review support strategies involving him and his family.
