Carbon60 is recruiting a Development and Production Test Engineer (Electronics) for a well-known UK-based defence company. This is a 12-month contract role, fully on site.
Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support for manufacturing testing of weapons sub-systems in production and development, including diagnostics of complex weapons at system and sub-system levels.
* Support test facility setup, configuration control, and generate test specifications and operator instructions.
* Assist in testing electrical/electronic weapon systems and sub-assemblies, diagnosing failures down to circuit card and component levels.
* Identify remedial and corrective actions to ensure continuous production.
* Evaluate technical problems and develop proposals for test equipment investigations and process improvements.
* Represent Test Engineering at Defect Review Board meetings to facilitate efficient progress and quality notifications.
Role Requirements:
* HNC/HND in Electronics or equivalent, with experience in digital & analogue electronics manufacturing and testing.
* Good understanding of measurement and test principles and equipment.
* Knowledge of the CADMID product life cycle for test equipment is desirable.
* Understanding of RF and microwave technology at subsystem level is an advantage.
* Knowledge of environmental testing, including ESS, is a plus.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of generating test specs, instructions, and reports.
* Proven problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
