GSL Education are currently recruiting motivated and supportive Teaching Assistants (TA) to work in schools across Redcar and Cleveland, with willingness to travel to Scarborough. This rewarding role involves supporting teachers and students across the classroom, helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will work closely with staff to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant: Support teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery Provide one-to-one and small group support for students when required Assist students with learning tasks and classroom engagement Encourage positive behaviour and participation in lessons Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment Teaching Assistant (TA) Requirements: Experience working with children or young people is desirable Patient, supportive, and proactive approach Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff Willingness to travel to Scarborough when required Relevant education, childcare, or support work experience is beneficial CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3, or similar qualifications are advantageous An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application.
