Our client is currently recruiting for a Contracts Specialist. Based in Aberdeen, the role is on a permanent (staff) basis and offers a hybrid working arrangement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

To work in accordance with the Company and departmental objectives and procedures.

Apply the Company’s requirements, duties, and obligations under supplier contracts to ensure alignment with the Company’s goals, requirements and any applicable industry regulations. Continually monitor and improve existing Company practices and procedures.
In conjunction with the Procurement Manager, manage commercial and contractual aspects of suppler contracts and major purchase orders
Provide commercial and legal support to the Company in respect of supplier contracts and supporting the internal contract owners on these as required.
Shall liaise with the Commercial Department / Contract’s Manager on any Contracts / Subcontracts which are entered into which will/may have a direct relationship with the Drilling Contract as agreed between the Company (as Managers) and it’s end clients (i.e. Oil / Energy Companies and/or Well Management Companies as applicable).
Understanding and interpreting the commercial and project requirements from a supplier contracting perspective and providing advice and support as required
Creating a Company standard set of supplier-facing contract documents which the Company can use to govern its dealings with external vendors and partners.
Develop a library of master service/supply agreements with suppliers so as to avoid constant renegotiation of terms and conditions. Liaise with other commercially focussed personnel within the SC department as required. Keep track of supplier contracts and extend, renew, or close out as required.
Perform routine contract reviews to ensure that any amendments and/or variations are formalised and executed and then distributing these to the relevant personnel as required.
Maintain supplier contract-related documents and correspondence.
Provide ongoing legal and commercial guidance to management and operational personnel in respect of ongoing supplier contracts to ensure that the relevant operational personnel are fully aware of the implications of business decisions which may be driven by supplier-specific requirements
Support the interface of the supplier terms (commercial and T&Cs) with the client facing personnel such that any anomalies between the supplier terms and the agreed client terms is mitigated.
Maintain summary document detailing status of current and ongoing supplier re/negotiations.
Build and maintain relationships with internal customers, vendors and other business connections.
Assist various departments with supplier related contractual requirements.
Present supplier contract information to relevant parties such as stakeholders.
Support the Procurement Manager in respect of any contractual issues which may arise with suppliers
Managing the risk profile to be borne by Company where vendors’ terms and conditions prevail and where the Company’s terms are not accepted by the vendor
Support the Procurement Manager in the review and preparation of the supply chain authority matrix and managing this on an ongoing basis. Liaison with authorised signatories as required.
Ensure that archiving and filing requirements in relation to supplier contracts is maintained.
Provide training to operational and business personnel in respect of supplier T&Cs as appropriate.
Any other duties as reasonably required by the Procurement Manager
REQUIREMENTS

Essential

Demonstrable knowledge of supply chain contracting ideally with formal training in Law, Business Management or similar.
Previous experience in a similar role is essential and familiarity with contracting documents.
Excellent communicator, in both written and verbal forms with highly effective inter-personal skills supported by good attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and proactively with a strong sense of personal accountability and self-motivation as well as collaboratively within a team.
Desirable

Degree educated in Law, Business Management or similar
Oil & Gas experience
