Corporate Banking Manager - Winchester at Handelsbanken
Job Introduction
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team at the Winchester branch as a Corporate Banking Manager. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of business customers, predominantly property lending, along with local trading businesses and non-borrowing clients. Responsibilities include preparing credit applications, conducting financial and risk analysis, monitoring accounts, ensuring covenant compliance, and driving portfolio growth through new customer acquisition and business development.
Main Responsibilities
* Maintain and develop a corporate customer portfolio, building relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.
* Identify, meet, and win prospective customers and introducers, outlining Handelsbanken’s services.
* Complete credit applications and annual reviews in line with the Bank’s Credit Policy.
* Interpret financial information, evaluate lending propositions, assess risk ratings, and structure transactions appropriately.
* Develop and maintain a sound understanding of the local market; maintain relationships with professional firms and introducers.
* Attend networking events and engage in focused business development activities.
* Recommend suitable Handelsbanken products and services based on customer needs.
* Handle general administration, prepare/review legal documents, and manage KYC/AML reviews.
Ideal Candidate
* Proven track‑record in corporate relationship and portfolio management, with strong business development capabilities.
* In-depth knowledge of the Bank’s Credit Policy, corporate products, and competitor offerings.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to represent Handelsbanken effectively.
* Strong team player, flexible, proactive, and able to work under pressure with integrity and discretion.
* High attention to detail, organised, and capable of delivering work with high accuracy.
* Experience with lending documentation, security, and AML/KYC procedures is advantageous.
* High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel); additional IT training will be provided.
