Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). About The Role
We are seeking an EC&I Technician for the Chapelcross Maintenance Department. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team responsible for Examination, Inspection, Maintenance, and Testing of Plant and Equipment, supporting the Plant Maintenance Schedule and statutory requirements. This role is ideal for motivated, flexible individuals with a broad skill set who are eager to develop further skills and contribute to our team’s success. Safety and customer focus are paramount.
The working hours are 07:30 – 17:15, Monday to Thursday, offering a four-day workweek.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform core maintenance duties ensuring compliance with health, safety, security, environmental, and quality policies.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives for safety and environmental policies.
* Complete required training, including site-specific programs.
* Maintain accurate records of tasks performed to support the maintenance schedule.
* Ensure safe use of hand and power tools through proper skills and knowledge.
Qualifications & Experience
* Time-served Electrician/Instrument Technician (C&I) with relevant technical qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent experience. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
* Awareness of modern safe working practices and the Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA).
* Experience working effectively within a team.
* Desirable: Electrical Inspection and Testing to British Standard BS7671.
