The Communications and Engagement team sits at the heart of the IBCA to ensure we explain the new compensation scheme with clarity, simplicity and effectiveness. As an Events Production Manager you will lead the planning, strategy and delivery of high‑profile internal and external events that support IBCA’s mission, including stakeholder engagement activity, forums with people impacted by the infected blood scandal, advisory board meetings, community engagement sessions and senior leadership events. You will shape our event strategy and ensure trauma‑informed practice, accessibility and consistency across all engagement activity.
Responsibilities
* Develop and own the IBCA Events and Engagement Strategy, aligned to organisational priorities;
* Responsible for end‑to‑end event production from concept to evaluation;
* Lead a programme of events including roundtables, speaking opportunities, internal conferences, campaigning/awareness activity and digital delivery;
* Manage supplier relationships including procurement, contracts, budgets and venues;
* Generate creative, insight‑driven ideas using latest event technologies;
* Provide expert advice on event display, tone, technical delivery and audience experience;
* Develop and lead evaluation and reporting based on GCS Impact and Insight framework;
* Ensure event content aligns with trauma‑informed language, accessibility standards and communication principles;
* Line‑manage, coach and develop HEO team members;
* Work closely with Content Design, Engagement, Strategic Comms and Service Design to translate insight into action and improve user experience.
Qualifications
* Proven event management experience in a complex, sensitive or public sector context;
* Experience delivering large‑scale and high‑profile events;
* Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills;
* Demonstrable understanding of trauma‑informed and psychologically safe delivery;
* Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at pace;
* Strong leadership, coaching and people‑development capability.
* Experience working with lived‑experience groups or bereavement/health communities;
* Knowledge of Government Communication Service (GCS) standards.
Additional Information
A minimum 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace. Attendance at other locations for official business also counts towards this level of attendance.
