The Role
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in preconstruction, producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for works. Working closely with management, suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams, you will help ensure tenders are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for office, education, and healthcare projects.
2. Carry out quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
3. Compile and issue enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors.
4. Analyse subcontractor returns and assist in value engineering.
5. Assist with tender submissions, clarifications, and pricing reviews.
6. Interpret architectural and technical drawings to support bids and project delivery.
7. Support procurement planning, orders, and delivery schedules.
8. Attend site surveys and pre-start meetings as required.
9. Support variation pricing and commercial queries as projects progress.
10. Develop positive relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Skills & Experience
11. Strong desire to build a career in construction industry.
12. Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
13. Experience in quantity take-offs and pricing, or relevant technical qualifications.
14. Good organisational and time management skills.
15. Confident using IT systems and estimating tools.
16. Experience within an office fit-out environment is advantageous but not essential.
