Part Time Refuge Manager - Brighton & Hove
Part Time 26 hours (18 hours permanent, 8 hours fixed term contract until January 2026).
The funding for the BME project is currently due to end in January 2026. While we are hopeful for continuation, this is yet to be confirmed.

Our Refuge in Brighton and Hove offers an excellent opportunity to become a domestic abuse refuge manager, where you will be empowered to support survivors and work with a team of specialist domestic abuse case workers. Your skills will support survivors in gaining tools to live free from abuse.
Typical Day as a Refuge Manager
* Managing the daily running of the refuge
* Conducting daily team briefs
* Supporting, developing, and nurturing a high-performing support team
* Providing emotional support and wellbeing interventions to staff and survivors
* Reviewing support planning quality and delivery
* Monitoring and reporting on KPIs and statistics
* Promoting an inclusive service
* Overseeing referrals, risk assessments, safety planning, and support plans
* Ensuring safeguarding procedures are observed
* Overseeing health and safety
* Attending multi-agency meetings
You will bring
* Passion to support survivors and support staff, with attention to detail
* A positive, can-do attitude and a zest for supporting people
* Management experience within a Domestic Abuse service or similar environment
* Ability to work independently, remain calm under pressure, and be resilient
Job Details
* Part of Brighton & Hove Services, supporting a 15-bed refuge and community outreach for BME survivors
* Working hours are flexible, typically 9-5.30, with rota shifts from 8 am to 6 pm and on-call outside these hours
* Based in Brighton & Hove refuge
* Proficiency in technology for support plans, risk assessments, and online training
* An enhanced DBS check is required, arranged by Stonewater
