About the Role
DP World in the UK is at the heart of Britain’s trading future, providing the right trading infrastructure, smart logistical solutions and the benefits of freeport status to our customers. An excellent opportunity has opened within the IT Department as a Senior Software Developer based in Southampton
How you will contribute:
1. Develop, implement and rigorously test software solutions that enhance operational efficiency across DP World UK Ports and Terminals.
2. Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
3. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure thorough testing and successful user acceptance before production deployment.
4. Deploy and manage applications using containerisation tools such as Docker.
5. Maintain clear documentation of technical designs, system architecture and requirements.
6. Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of continuous integration, delivery and deployment pipelines.
What you will bring:
7. Programming: Strong proficiency in C# with .NET Framework and Core, including WCF, WPF, MVVM, SOA, REST APIs and message queuing.
8. Databases: Experience with MS SQL and Entity Framework.
9. DevOps: Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
10. Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development, Test-Driven Development (TDD), DevOps practices and SOLID design principles.
11. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of container terminal operations or logistics is advantageous. Experience with enterprise billing or invoicing systems is highly beneficial.
12. Tools: Comfortable using Confluence, Jira and Bitbucket.
13. Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
14. Teamwork: Capable of working independently and collaboratively to meet project deadlines.

16. A full valid UK driving licence or appropriate international licence allowing you to drive on UK roads.
17. No unspent criminal convictions.
18. Due to manufacturing guidelines on equipment and site safety critical health and safety requirements, we have strict weight and medical requirements that need to be met and maintained. For our safety critical roles health and medical and fitness checks are performed. Requirements include, but are not limited to, weight, height, blood pressure and hearing.
19. We may close our roles early, depending on the number of applications received.
