Mould Setter / Joiner

Role Overview
The GRC Mould Setter / Joiner is responsible for preparing, assembling, and setting moulds ready for the production of Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC) units.
The role focuses on accurate mould setup, installation of inserts and fixtures, and ensuring moulds are correctly prepared for spraying or casting. The position also includes cleaning, maintaining, and resetting moulds after use to enable efficient reuse in future production cycles.
The role is critical to ensuring production runs efficiently while maintaining the required quality, dimensional accuracy, and finish standards for architectural GRC components.
Key Responsibilities
Mould Preparation & Setup
11. Assemble and set moulds according to production drawings and specifications.
12. Ensure moulds are correctly aligned, level, and securely fixed prior to production.
13. Install inserts, blockouts, chamfers, and additional components required for casting.
14. Prepare mould surfaces ready for GRC spraying.
Production Support
15. Work alongside the GRC spraying team to ensure moulds are correctly prepared for casting.
16. Assist in preparing moulds for multiple spray cycles.
17. Ensure moulds meet required tolerances and dimensional requirements before production begins.
Demoulding & Reuse
18. Assist with safe demoulding of GRC units following curing.
19. Clean moulds thoroughly after each use to maintain finish quality.
20. Reset moulds ready for reuse in the next production cycle.
21. Carry out minor adjustments and repairs to moulds where required.
Quality Control
22. Ensure mould setups meet required tolerances and finish requirements.
23. Identify any issues that may affect the quality of finished units.
24. Report mould defects or design issues to supervisors.
Maintenance & Housekeeping
25. Maintain moulds in good condition to maximise lifespan and reuse.
26. Keep work areas clean and organised.
27. Maintain tools and equipment used in mould preparation.
Key Skills & Experience
28. Experience in joinery, carpentry, or mould assembly.
29. Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
30. Experience working with timber moulds or formwork systems.
31. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
32. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
