Join Our Team as a Communications Officer – Cheshire East Highways
Ringway Jacobs is looking for a talented Communications Officer to join our dedicated team at Cheshire East Highways.
In this engaging role, you’ll help shape and deliver internal and external communications across a variety of media channels, supporting the reputation of Cheshire East Highways, Cheshire East Council, and Ringway Jacobs.
As a key member of the Communications team, you will work closely with senior management and service delivery teams to engage effectively with stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include providing strategic communications advice, developing engaging content, managing digital platforms including our website and social media, attending events and meetings, and leading targeted campaigns to inform and manage public expectations.
The Role
1. Support and promote the Cheshire East Highways Communications Strategy across service delivery teams.
2. Lead proactive communications, including internal updates, web content, social media, and press.
3. Collaborate with teams to create engaging, targeted messages across multiple channels.
4. Promote Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) initiatives.
5. Identify and develop compelling stories to showcase the service to internal and external audiences.
About You
6. A-level, HNC, or equivalent experience, including GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
7. Degree or equivalent qualification in communications, marketing, business management, or related field preferred.
8. Valid driving licence and access to a car for travel across Cheshire East.
9. Strong written communication skills.
10. Good political awareness with the ability to engage local politicians effectively.
