Overview
Our Water Services team clean water to the highest standard, deliver it to millions of homes, and carefully manage it to ensure it never runs out. We supply safe drinking water to 4.3 million customers in towns and villages from Grimsby to Milton Keynes. We currently have a full time, permanent opportunity in our Water Regulations Team for a Water Regulations Engineer. This is a field-based role that will require travel mainly around the Grantham, Newark, Lincoln and the surrounding areas.
As a Water Regulations Engineer, you will coordinate, plan and undertake Water Regulation Inspections/Assessments on new and existing high-risk domestic dwellings, commercial and industrial premises, and Anglian Water owned assets. These inspections/assessments support the business in protecting water supplies from waste, misuse, undue consumption, contamination, and erroneous measurement, helping to keep the Anglian Water region's public water supply safe. You will be face to face with customers and will inspect and assess hot and cold water plumbing system installations on all property types including domestic properties, farms, schools, hospitals, and factories for compliance with the Water Supply Regulations. Carrying out these inspections and assessments you will help protect the public water supply.
You will be required to inspect and assess installations and work with customers to ensure compliance and accuracy in measurement and reporting.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate, plan and undertake Water Regulation Inspections/Assessments on new and existing high-risk domestic dwellings, commercial and industrial premises, and Anglian Water owned assets.
* Inspect hot and cold water plumbing system installations on all property types (domestic, farms, schools, hospitals, factories) for compliance with the Water Supply Regulations.
* Engage face-to-face with customers to explain findings and ensure safe, compliant installations.
* Travel within the assigned region (Grantham, Newark, Lincoln and surrounding areas) as required.
* Assist in protecting water supplies from waste, misuse, undue consumption, contamination, and erroneous measurement.
Qualifications
* Recognised plumbing qualification and a relevant Water Regulations knowledge qualification (or equivalent).
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
* Flexible individual; may occasionally work out of hours to meet business requirements.
* Full UK driving licence is essential.
* Subject to standard employment checks (right to work in the UK, references, driving licence and identity check); may include criminal record check and drug and alcohol testing depending on role.
