We are looking for a Medical Coder to join our busy GP Practice, working within our Operations Team. Our Coders are responsible for coding the relevant information into our patients' healthcare records using the EMIS Web clinical system.

We provide services to over 17,000 patients in Bicester and the surrounding areas and are growing fast, our Operations Team is key to the smooth running of the practice.


Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include:

* Accurately code date onto patient records in line with Snomed
* Identifying clinical information, coding appropriately and completing detailed actions
* Scanning of patient documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients' healthcare records
* Amending and / or making additions to medical records to ensure that correct and complete information is within each patients' electronic record
* Additional ad hoc tasks within the team as required

Previous experience in a medical setting as a Medical Coder would be preferred, along with these skills:

* Experience of administrative work
* Excellent attention to detail
* Organised and able to prioritise a busy and changing workload, working to tight deadlines
* Flexible with a positive, can-do attitude
* Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously

* Identifying clinical information, coding appropriately and completing detailed actions
* Scanning of patient documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients' healthcare records
* Amending and / or making additions to medical records to ensure that correct and complete information is each patients' electronic record
* Additional ad hoc tasks within the team as required

Previous experience in a medical setting is essential, along with these skills:

* Accurate with excellent attention to detail
* Organised and able to prioritise a busy and changing workload
* Experience of administrative work
* Flexible with a positive, can-do attitude
* Discrete and able to maintain confidentiality
* Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously

Pay is dependent on skills and experience and will include membership of the NHS Pension Scheme and five weeks paid holiday plus Bank Holidays.

Experience

* Previous experience in a medical setting as a Medical Coder would be preferred, along with these skills:
