An opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Craft Team Member to join a busy Cranes & Lifting maintenance team at a large industrial manufacturing site in Llanwern, Newport. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining and repairing lifting equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The successful candidate will work in a safety-critical environment and contribute to maintaining high operational standards while supporting a collaborative and safety-focused team. The role also provides opportunities to support team leadership and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Carry out maintenance, fault finding, and repair work on lifting equipment. Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with safety procedures and risk assessments. Support safe and efficient plant operations through high-quality maintenance practices. Assist the Team Leader in planning maintenance work and coordinating resources. Maintain accurate maintenance records using internal maintenance management systems. Provide on-the-job coaching and support to other team members where required. Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across the department. Deputise for the Area Team Leader when required. Requirements Time-served Mechanical Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification. Proven experience working on lifting equipment maintenance. Knowledge of PUWER and LOLER regulations. Ability to work at height and in safety-critical environments. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Basic IT skills and experience managing maintenance activities. Desirable Experience with SAP or similar maintenance management systems. Experience in EOT crane maintenance. Demonstrated involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.
