Overview
Stantec is expanding its engineering teams across the country and is recruiting a Senior Civil Engineer - Water in the Northwest (Manchester or Warrington). Join a UK-wide team delivering water sector projects from concept through detailed design, with a focus on sustainability, the environment and community impact.
Your Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you’ll contribute across the full project lifecycle—from asset planning and strategy to concept, outline, and detailed design. You’ll be responsible for developing civil engineering designs, working closely with our Principal Engineers and Design Leads. You’ll also support and mentor junior engineers, helping to build a strong, collaborative team. You will have access to Stantec’s world-class expertise to help you deliver innovative solutions using advanced technologies.
Responsibilities
* Lead civil engineering design work for water projects, from concept through detailed design
* Collaborate with Principal Engineers and Design Leads to develop effective solutions
* Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment
* Contribute to projects aimed at reducing spills from Combined Sewer Overflows
* Support client engagement and deliverables across Clean/Waste Infrastructure and Non-Infrastructure programmes
About You / Qualifications
* A degree in Civil Engineering
* Experience in water and wastewater infrastructure or treatment design, with transferable experience considered
* Incorporated or Chartered status with ICE or CIWEM is preferred; employer supports progression toward accreditation if needed
* Willingness to grow through training and project exposure; knowledge of wastewater networks, surface water management and sewage treatment is beneficial
