Main duties of the job
As a Second Chef at Barchester, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh, seasonal produce and deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the long hours and split shifts. Job responsibilities
* Be a qualified Chef with a genuine interest in residents' wellbeing.
* Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualifications.
* Have a good understanding of nutrition and experience working with fresh seasonal food.
* Manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
* Assist in menu development and work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality dishes.
* Create a warm, welcoming environment within the home.
* Engage confidently with residents to create appetizing, nutritious menus.
* Ensure compliance with HACCP standards.
* Work within budget, complete audits, and manage stock control.
