Resuscitation Officer
0.9 WTE Band 6 (33 hours)
Overview
An exciting opportunity has opened for an enthusiastic, experienced, and highly motivated registered practitioner to join NHS Lothian’s Resuscitation Team to train and support staff working across NHS Lothian’s acute and primary care settings.
Our dedicated Resuscitation training facility at St Johns where this post will be based has recently been incorporated into a newly designed and refurbished education suite including full simulation and debrief facilities, sim ward, numerous additional breakout and clinical skills rooms including wellbeing space.
Responsibilities
* Train and support staff across NHS Lothian’s acute and primary care settings.
* Deliver education and training on resuscitation skills within the dedicated training facility.
* Support staff in practice regarding expert management of deteriorating patients using A‑E assessment and SBARD.
Qualifications
* Registered practitioner with experience in education and supporting students and staff in practice.
* Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
* Extensive knowledge of A‑E assessment and SBARD, and treatment of deteriorating sick patients.
* Adult and Child PVG Scheme membership or willingness to apply for Disclosure Scotland membership prior to starting.

To work in the United Kingdom, a relevant permission to work is required. Referees and criminal records checks may be conducted in accordance with the UK Visa and Immigration Service and the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
