Role and Responsibilities
* As the Contracts Manager, you will oversee multiple construction projects (typically 1-2 larger schemes) across Yorkshire. Your responsibilities will cover all phases of project delivery, from pre-construction and planning through to final completion - ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality and safety standards.
* Manage and deliver projects under main contract conditions with a focus on maximising commercial return
* Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and the wider delivery team
* Ensure consistent project performance across build quality, safety, cost control and programme
* Oversee planning, procurement, progress reporting and stakeholder communication
* Maintain excellent relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
* Create a safe, inclusive and productive site culture on all projects
* Oversee the monitoring of contractors' work for compliance with schedule, budget, quality, safety, and overall conformance with the contract documents
Requirements
* Strong experience in construction programming and project scheduling is essential
* Proven ability to develop, manage and adjust detailed construction programmes across multiple live projects
* Excellent working knowledge of construction sequencing, critical path programming and planning software
* Proven experience delivering multiple concurrent construction projects
* Excellent communication, people management and organisational skills
* Commercially astute with a solid understanding of contract law and construction regulations
* Ability to lead, mentor and support delivery teams across project lifecycles
* A methodical, collaborative and professional approach to problem-solving
* Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, health & safety standards and risk management
* SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid & Temporary Works Certification
