Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee our financial operations and ensure the organisation's financial health. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills and a comprehensive understanding of financial management within the financial services sector. This role requires a proactive approach to financial planning, cost control, and financial accounting, ensuring that all financial practices align with regulatory standards and organisational goals.
We are a busy, fast growing e-commerce company based in Harworth, Doncaster, handling hundreds of online orders daily.
This position is offered as a full time role 5 days per week, 9-5 monday to friday.
Duties
* Develop and implement robust financial management strategies to enhance operational efficiency and cost control.
* Prepare regular detailed financial reports, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic decision-making.
* Preparation of monthly management accounts and management pack in a timely manner
* Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
* Look for cost savings within the business
* Ensure accurate financial accounting practices are maintained in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
* Ensure accuracy of high volume purchase and sales ledger functions
* Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that drive business performance.
* Manage a part time bookkeeper
* Making regular overseas payments in USD
* Liaising with our external accountants for our annual accounts and any ad-hoc advice needed
* VAT compliance including submission of quarterly VAT returns
* Production of regulatory returns
* Delivery of change in an ever growing business
* Oversee correct input and output of payroll staff
* Handle annual staff pay reviews and bonuses for staff
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience a similar role within finance management.
* Proficient in accounts and office software tech (ie: Xero, all google/ Microsoft packages etc)
* ACA/ACCA/AAT/CIMA qualification is essential
* In-depth knowledge of management accounts and monthly management reporting packs, accounts payable processes, cost control measures, and financial planning methodologies.
* Proficient in financial accounting principles and practices.
* Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail in financial reporting.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to stakeholders.
* Knowledge of up to date accounting principles
* experience of managing a small team is essential
* Knowledge of e-commerce business, including high volume transactions, and payment gateways and multiple forms of automated payments is preferable though not essential
