Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: A GBP 36,363 : A GBP 39,862 per annum
Newcastle City Council (City Transport) are seeking an experienced time served Heavy Goods Vehicle technician to take up a permanent position.
City Transport maintains and repairs a diverse range of heavy and light vehicles, plant and horticultural equipment as well as having two MOT stations, testing class 4,5 and 7 vehicles, licenced taxis and hackney carriages.

We are looking for someone with the skills and experience to achieve the effective and efficient maintenance, diagnostics and repair of the councils plant, horticultural equipment and Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) fleet, including an understanding of DVSA and Operators Licence standards enabling them to prepare and present LGVs for MOT.
Ability to work to deadlines whilst consistenly producing good quality work in a safe maner at all times.

You will have served a recognised apprenticeship in motor vehicle engineering to NVQ level 3 or equivalent. A category B driving licence is essential. Categories C LGV licence or hold a valid MOT tester qualification being advantageous.
