About the Role – Senior Social Worker, Safeguarding & Family Support
In this key frontline role, you’ll be part of the Safeguarding and Family Support Service, responding to urgent child protection referrals and carrying out meaningful assessments and interventions that keep children safe from harm.
You’ll work with families in complex situations, including sexual abuse cases and court proceedings, and play a vital part in helping children find long-term safety — whether that’s with their families or through care planning.
What You’ll Be Doing
*
Leading responses to child protection referrals (Priority 1 & 2)
*
Undertaking Section 47 investigations and risk assessments
*
Managing complex safeguarding cases, including sexual abuse
*
Supporting permanence planning through PLO or court proceedings
*
Building relationships with families to support sustainable change
*
Working closely with multi-agency partners for effective safeguarding
What You’ll Need
*
Social Work England registration
*
A professional social work qualification (or equivalent)
*
4+ years of post-qualification experience
*
Deep understanding of safeguarding procedures and legislation
*
Strong report-writing and risk management skills
*
A current UK driving licence and access to a car (preferred)
