We're looking for a MEICA Project Manager to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team working on the Environment Agency collaborative delivery framework based in Bridgwater, Somerset.
Location: Bridgwater, Somerset - this role requires an active presence on site.
Hours: 45 hours per week – we can offer some flexibility on start and finish times if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
What will you be responsible for?
As a MEICA Project Manager, you'll support the Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team by leading the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation systems for the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier, a landmark flood defence project in Somerset. This leadership role requires expertise in design review, delivery, and commissioning of complex multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Leading and managing a multidisciplinary delivery team of up to 10 personnel on-site, including commercial, programme controls, engineering, and others to meet client requirements.
2. Collaborating with the Senior Project Manager and Management Team to guide specialist teams, align project objectives, and maintain the P6 programme throughout the project lifecycle, monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions as needed.
3. Owning the MEICA elements from design to final commissioning and handover, managing interface with civil works, and ensuring integration with other packages.
4. Coordinating subcontractors, consultants, and in-house resources to ensure safe, timely, and quality delivery, and liaising with stakeholders to meet specifications and commitments.
5. Ensuring all MEICA installations comply with standards (e.g., BS7671, IEC 61508, WIMES, EA standards), quality processes, and health and safety regulations (CDM 2015, Kier SHE policies).
What are we looking for?
This role is ideal if you have:
* Proven experience delivering MEICA packages on major infrastructure, flood defence, or water sector projects.
* Qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering disciplines.
* Certifications such as CSCS, SMSTS, or equivalent health and safety certifications.
* Understanding and experience with:
* MEICA integration in civil engineering projects.
* Industry regulations, standards, and H&S legislation (e.g., BS7671, IEC 61508, CDM, ATEX/CompEx/DSEAR).
* Automation, SCADA, PLC, telemetry, and HV/LV electrical systems in coastal or flood defence contexts.
