Role Overview
Lead product design on our consumer growth team & work closely with a global team of product managers, product & brand designers, engineers and data scientists, to define our strategy and drive the future of OpenTable’s customer experience!
The Product Design Lead will build impactful user experiences that delight customers and drive our business forward, evolve, and develop new experiences while balancing the needs of our diners, restaurants, and the business.
This individual will collaborate with other designers whilst navigating the full range of a product designer’s work—from research to high‑fidelity designs. On some days you’ll be sketching ideas and launching experiments as A/B tests, and on others, conducting a customer interview or running a team workshop. Additionally, you’ll be a part of our UX leadership team and manage a small product design team, where you’ll have the opportunity to mentor and grow your fellow designers.

Responsibilities
* Lead product design on the consumer growth team, collaborating with product managers, designers, engineers, and data scientists to define strategy and deliver user experience improvements.
* Build and iterate high‑fidelity prototypes, conduct user research, A/B testing, and workshops to validate design decisions.
* Manage and mentor a small design team, fostering growth and excellence in design practice.
* Champion the user experience across diners, restaurants, and business stakeholders, ensuring accessibility and delight.
* Translate sophisticated workflows into elegant and accessible user experiences.
* Collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners, facilitating group conversations and shaping decisions.
Qualifications
* Exceptional visual design, interaction design, and portfolio skills across web and mobile platforms.
* Deep experience working on global products in large‑scale, product‑led environments, across iOS, Android, and responsive web.
* Proven track record of managing or mentoring designers.
* Strong communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
* Creative, open‑minded problem‑solver, able to lead projects independently and thrive with challenges.
* Ability to navigate all stages of design: research, prototyping, testing, visual design, and collaboration with product and engineering teams.
* Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adopt the latest design trends and methodologies.
* Experience building large archives of tools and selecting appropriate methods to drive work forward.
* Comfortably seek and incorporate direction from senior leadership while remaining eager to forecast emerging design trends.
