Apprentice Healthcare Support Worker (Full‑time 18‑month Apprenticeship)
We are looking for motivated, caring, and compassionate individuals to join our Apprenticeship programme at Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. The 18‑month fixed‑term apprenticeship offers a pathway to a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide personal care to patients in clinical areas.
* Assist with nutritional needs.
* Monitor the health and well‑being of patients.
* Support procedures as required.
* Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Expectations
* Work under pressure.
* Commit to rotational shifts, including nights, evenings, weekends, and early shifts starting at 7am.
Qualifications & Conditions
* Age 18 years or older on the start date.
* Resident in the UK for at least three years.
* English and Maths GCSE at grades 9‑1 / A*‑G or equivalent.
* Demonstrate a genuine interest in caring for people.
* Do not hold a degree, level‑four qualification or above in a health‑related subject.
* Do not have significant prior healthcare experience.
Training & Support
* Full‑time apprenticeship training, including the Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship course.
* Care Certificate.
* BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Care.
* Comprehensive training programme supported by vocational trainers.
Application Process
Interviews will be held during the week commencing 4th May 2025. The cohort starts in June 2025.
