Job overview

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) is rated as an outstandingly well‑led Trust by the CQC and is committed to innovation and transformation. We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the CAMHS Crisis and Enhanced Home Treatment Team (CCETT), as part of our Specialist Services division. The role is full‑time at 10 PA per week, with an additional three PA (pro rata) for 3 years as part of recruitment and retention. Flexible working patterns, including job share and part time, are available.


Main duties of the job

* Provide comprehensive psychiatric services for children and young people with complex needs.
* Hold medical responsibility for this population.
* Provide consultant psychiatric input into the various CCETT pathways.
* Act as an Approved Clinician under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007) and maintain Section 12(2) approval.
* Be part of the consultant CAMHS on‑call rota and support trainees on‑call.
* Work independently and autonomously as a specialist, offering leadership in CAMHS based services. Supervision and mentoring opportunities are provided.
* Work clinically with children, young people, families/carers and allied professionals.
* Lead assessment of children and young people referred to the service.
* Be involved in the assessment and management of urgent and routine referrals.
* Participate in devising plans of action using a variety of therapeutic approaches.
* Support the implementation of plans of action in partnership with parents/carers.


Person specification

* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Fully registered with the GMC and licensed to practice.
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register, or within 6 months of completion.
* Approved Clinician status, or able to achieve within 3 months of completion.
* Approved under Section 12(2), or able to achieve within 3 months of completion.
* MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
* DBS clearance.
* Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
* Willingness to engage with further training in child psychiatry.
* Additional clinical qualifications.
* In good standing with the GMC with respect to warnings and conditions on practice.


Clinical skills, knowledge and experience

* Able to meet duties under the MHA and MCA.
* Clinical training and experience required for gaining UK CCT or other alternative routes such as CESR Fellowship.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
* Widespread and detailed experience of assessment and management of patients.
* Ability to offer expert clinical independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
* Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
* Wide range of specialist and sub‑specialist experience relevant to the post within NHS or comparable service.
