The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) to act as Commercial Lead across multiple Task Orders delivered under the NEC Professional Services Contract (PSC), Option G – Cost Reimbursable.
You will be responsible for the full commercial lifecycle of Task Orders – from contract formation and cost control through to final account and close-out – ensuring robust governance, compliance, and value for money.
This is a client-facing role within a highly regulated environment, ideal for a commercially astute professional with strong NEC experience and a proactive approach to change and cost management.
Brief Key Responsibilities
* Establish and manage Task Orders in compliance with NEC PSC Option G
* Prepare commercial documentation, challenge cost estimates and resource plans
* Capture, validate, and report Defined Cost in line with contract requirements
* Maintain cost journals, substantiation packs, and auditable records
* Proactively manage Early Warnings and Compensation Events
* Prepare CE notifications, quotations, assessments, and supporting evidence
* Maintain CEMAR registers and provide regular change performance reporting
* Prepare cost forecasts, out-turn projections, and variance analysis
* Produce client-facing and internal commercial dashboards and reports
* Support internal and external audits with full cost and commercial evidence
* Lead preparation and agreement of final accounts
* Compile final substantiation and lessons-learned documentation
* Attend project meetings alongside the Commercial Lead
* Coach and mentor Assistant Quantity Surveyors
Essential Requirements
* Degree qualified xsngvjr (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
* Strong experience administering NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including Defined Cost
* Practical experience of CEMAR
* Senior QS level with minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience
* Client-facing experience
* Working towards or holding MRICS (or equivalent)
* BPSS clearance (SC or SC pending required)
Desirable
* Experience in nuclear and/or defence environments
* Proven experience on cost-reimbursable professional services contracts
