The primary objective of the Sustainability Scheme Manager is to support the Carbon & Sustainability Services Director in establishing and maintaining a successful team, overseeing activities, ensuring compliance, and growing sustainability services. The role involves raising profile within our client base and the wider sector, with evolving responsibilities aligned with NQA’s strategy.
The role will involve working across NQA's sustainability portfolio, including Chain of Custody, Supply Chain Services, and PEFC, to strengthen and expand our services globally.
The market is rapidly growing and changing; the role requires proactive engagement with the team and sector to manage effectively and enhance visibility.
The position reports directly to the Carbon & Sustainability Services Director and manages four NQA management posts.
Location: Flexible; options include remote, on-site, or hybrid working. Willingness to travel is expected.
Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent in environmental, sustainability, business management, or similar.
* At least 2 years’ certification or industry experience.
* Interest in sustainability and carbon verification schemes.
* Completion of relevant Lead Auditor/Verifier courses (EMS, EnMS, GHG, CoC, etc.).
Skills & Competences:
Required skills include IT literacy, people management, confidence, customer service, self-starting attitude, reliability, interpersonal and communication skills, strategic thinking, and knowledge of management standards and verification processes.
Personal attributes include professionalism, relationship-building skills, independence, organizational skills, interest in sustainability, and influence skills.
