About the Role
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day care and supervision for children and young people aged 5-18.
* Support children with emotional and behavioural needs, including those with trauma backgrounds.
* Assist with daily routines such as meals, hygiene, school runs, and recreational activities.
* Build trusting relationships and act as a positive role model.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to care plans and reviews.
* Work collaboratively with social workers, therapists, and other professionals.
* Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Shift Pattern
* 12-hour shifts (e.g., 8am-8pm or 8pm-8am)
* 3-4 days per week on a rolling rota
* Includes weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis
Requirements
* Previous experience in a care or support role (children's residential care preferred)
* NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or willingness to work towards it
* Enhanced DBS check (required prior to employment)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
