Deputy Home Manager - Children and Young People
Location: Buntingford
Salary: £33,600 - £38000 per annum (DOE) plus additional sleep-in payments
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential
Hours: Full-time, working long day shifts with occasional sleep-ins
About the Role
I am recruiting on behalf of a respected and established provider of residential childcare services, seeking a Deputy Home Manager to join a warm and supportive team in Buntingford.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker or an existing Deputy Manager who is ready to step up and take a more active leadership role within a nurturing and forward-thinking environment.
You'll be part of a strong regional team of children's homes, backed by a national organisation that values innovation, development, and genuine care. You'll have the freedom to contribute ideas, influence change, and help shape a therapeutic approach that focuses on positive outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
·Support the Registered Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards and internal policies.
·Provide strong leadership to staff, promoting a positive, supportive, and child-centred culture.
·Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.
·Oversee care planning, risk management, and individualised support strategies.
·Manage rotas, budgets, and staff allocations effectively.
·Act as the Registered Manager when required, ensuring continuity of care and leadership.
·Contribute to developing and embedding a therapeutic model of care.

Requirements
·Minimum 2 years' experience in a Residential Children's Home, ideally at Senior or Deputy level.
·Level 3 or 4 Diploma/NVQ in Children and Young People.
·Sound understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures.
·Experience managing rotas, budgets, and staff teams.
·Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
