We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Occupational Therapist to join our older adult in-patient ward.
This is an opportunity to work in both Functional and Organic wards, providing excellent broad-based clinical experience covering both mental and physical health.
Ideally, you will have experience in mental health and possess excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be an integral member of a dynamic team currently implementing a Therapeutic Model across our inpatient services. We are promoting the unique contribution of Occupational Therapy to enable excellent patient care with positive measurable outcomes.
You will be part of a broad-based team with other qualified staff and Occupational Therapy Assistants to support your service delivery. Knowledge of the VdT Model of Creative Ability would be advantageous, although training will be provided.
Role Summary
1. To work as a Senior Clinician for Acute Older Adult In-patient services, providing specialist holistic recovery-based interventions.
2. To provide leadership to the team, support learning, and use research and evidence-based practice to facilitate change.

Key Responsibilities
* Assess patients using a priority system.
* Utilise specialist assessments for complex cases.
* Decide on treatment interventions.
* Plan, communicate, and negotiate treatment plans with patients and carers.
* Coordinate with community services and liaise with multidisciplinary teams and agencies.
* Modify environments to empower patients and enhance functioning.
* Work with Social Services and Housing Organisations on equipment and home adaptations.
* Apply various treatment modalities tailored to individual or group needs.
* Delegate care appropriately to team members and carers.
* Review patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
* Ensure treatments are evidence-based.
* Develop and implement interventions based on theoretical knowledge.
* Attend professional meetings and training.
* Maintain a professional development portfolio and participate in appraisals.
* Provide supervision and operational management to junior staff and students.
* Represent Occupational Therapy in service development forums as needed.
* Adhere to policies regarding leave, sickness, and documentation.
