Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our vibrant team at Potarch Cafe. This a dynamic role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and being part of a team that delivers excellent service.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and a memorable dining experience for guests. This position requires an individual who is passionate about hospitality and possesses strong communication skills.
Duties
* Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression.
* Assist with seating arrangements and manage reservations efficiently.
* Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen or bar staff using the POS system.
* Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including dining tables, menus, and service stations.
* Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a courteous manner, striving for resolution to ensure guest satisfaction.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and maintain smooth operations during peak times.
* Support bartending duties as needed, including preparing drinks and managing the bar area.
* Assist colleagues with dishes, stock replenishment and open/closing duties
We are a small team and therefore the successful candidate will be willing and eager to assit in all areas of the Cafe, be it serving, running food, bartending and/or dishes.
Experience
* Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; we welcome those eager to learn.
* Cash handling experience and basic maths skills
* Familiarity with food preparation techniques and food safety regulations is advantageous.
* Experience in catering services is a plus, as well as any barista and/or bartending experience.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as utilising own initiative.
* A proactive attitude towards helping colleagues and enhancing the overall guest experience is essential.
