Overview
West London NHS Trust is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Physical Healthcare Nurse Practitioner to join our acute mental health inpatient services. This role bridges mental and physical health to provide holistic care for individuals with complex needs, delivering hands-on physical healthcare within a multidisciplinary team and guiding ward staff to develop their skills.
Responsibilities
* Deliver hands‑on physical healthcare for inpatients within mental health units.
* Coach and empower ward staff to grow their skills in physical health care practices.
* Lead education initiatives that drive positive change across our services.
* Conduct comprehensive health assessments and monitor physical health conditions.
* Provide hands‑on care that includes minor procedures and vital sign monitoring.
* Act as a resource for ward-based staff, mentoring colleagues to enhance patient care across units.
Qualifications and Skills
* Proactive and skilled nurse with a strong foundation in physical health assessment and treatment.
* Empathetic approach to patient interaction and the ability to handle medical emergencies calmly and effectively.
* Confidence to lead during simulations and real‑world incidents.
* Excellent communication, clinical judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to high standards of patient care.
