Overview
Avenues provides community support for people with complex needs, and we are looking for an Assistant Service Manager for our Beresford Gardens supported living service in Margate. The service supports two individuals with profound learning disabilities, autism and mild challenging behaviours.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Service Manager in managing and leading a successful, positive team and act as Service Manager in their absence.
* Manage changes and drive continuous improvement for the best interest of the people we support.
* Reinforce a positive culture and maintain safe practice by keeping up-to-date with policies and procedures.
* Recruit new employees and develop and manage staff, ensuring fair and consistent treatment.
* Work on the on‑call team and shift schedule: bank holidays, 7am–2:30pm and 2pm–9:30pm; occasional extension past 21:30 for 1‑1 support or night staff supervision; late shift 23:00–10:00.
* Provide 1‑1 support and guidance to support staff on duty as required.
* Balance keeping people safe with positive risk‑taking.
