Job Description
Our part-time Administrative Assistant supports the day-to-day running of the Thatcham office with hands-on routine admin work. The role involves direct interaction with clients and suppliers, as well as internal staff across the workshop and office teams.
The ideal candidate will exhibit high standards, excellent communication skills, and have an ability to take initiative, and prioritize daily tasks.
Part-time, Monday to Thursday, 09:30 to 14:30 (20 hours per week/0.5FTE)
Salary £13,520 p/a (Full time equivalent £27,040 p/a).
Responsibilities
* Greet clients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
* Raise purchase orders accurately and in line with company procedures.
* Respond to incoming emails from clients and suppliers in a timely and courteous manner.
* Order office and workshop consumables, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
* Answer telephone calls, take messages, and direct queries appropriately.
* Carry out general administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the office.
Qualifications & Training
Essential:
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Comfortable using email and standard office software.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage routine admin tasks with minimal supervision.
* Friendly and approachable, with a confident phone manner.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work consistently within a part-time schedule.
Desirable
* Familiarity with raising purchase orders or using basic accounts or stock systems.
* Previous experience in an office or customer-facing role.
* Comfortable handling light ordering and supplier communication.
Basic training will be provided on internal systems and processes.
This role may offer scope for increased responsibilities over time, depending on business needs.
