At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose to improve people s lives. We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional individual to work in our Home Improvement team as a Senior Surveyor/Specialist grants officer. About the Team The post involves working as part of a team, providing Disabled Facilities Grants, and other financial assistance, as set out in the current published Decent Homes Policy, to improve and adapt the homes of eligible residents in Bath and North East Somerset. Ensuring timely, effective, and a person-centred support that promotes independence and safety. About the Role This will be a 37 hours post, where the post holder s primary workplace is the Civic Centre, Keynsham. However, alternative workplaces, including home based working, can also be used with the agreement of the manager. Additionally, the post-holder may be required to work or be available outside of regular office hours, including for evening meetings. Additionally, the post holder will prepare schedules of work, evaluate costs and inspect the quality of completed works agreed for grant funding/financial assistance, to ensure value for money. To include referring and agreeing the scope of eligible works with the Council s commissioned Home Improvement Agency on complex cases. About You Membership of a relevant professional organisation (such as Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, Association of Project Managers, RICS) is desirable.
