You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement mechanical systems for municipal water and wastewater projects. The role demands strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage mechanical aspects of projects from design through to completion.

* Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time, embracing the ethos of a “one team” culture.
* Mechanical Design Leadership - Take a leading role in the mechanical design and sub-contract package delivery for water and wastewater treatment projects. Oversee all stages of mechanical design and delivery, including site surveys, detailed design, tender pricing and subcontract appointments.
* Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration - Work closely with civil, process, electrical, ICA, and H&S teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into the overall project. Provide technical guidance and coordination with internal and external design and project delivery teams.
* Procurement and Equipment Selection - Manage the selection and procurement of mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, tanks, pipework) and materials, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and project specifications.
* Subcontractor Management -Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure that their mechanical work aligns with project objectives, timelines, and quality standards. Ensure subcontractors meet contractual requirements and deliverables.
* Site Monitoring and Progress Reviews - Conduct regular site visits to monitor the progress of mechanical work, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure safety and compliance with established standards.
* Client and Stakeholder Engagement - Build and maintain strong client relationships from project commencement through to close-out. Provide technical support, updates, and advice throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring client objectives and deadlines are met.
* Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance - Ensure the consistent implementation of health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures in line with Glanua and client-defined standards. Address any performance, scope, cost, or schedule issues proactively.
* Project Reporting and Documentation - Prepare detailed project plans, reports, and status updates for clients and internal stakeholders. Highlight key milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies to keep all parties informed.
* Continuous Improvement: Participate in project review meetings and incorporate lessons learned into future projects. Contribute to process improvements across the company, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of mechanical project delivery.
* Team Development: Foster a collaborative team environment and contribute to a positive and supportive culture. Mentor junior engineers and encourage a focus on continuous personal and professional development.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

The main knowledge, skills and experience required of the Mechanical Project Engineer are outlined as follows:

* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) is preferred.
* At least 3 years of proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer in the water and wastewater industry. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
