Are you an experienced and passionate Senior Social Worker ready to make a lasting impact? Sandwell Children's Trust is expanding its innovative approach to supporting Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) through the launch of three dedicated
Child Protection and Court ASYE Hubs
.
Building on the success of our initial ASYE Hub model, we are now recruiting
three Senior Social Workers
to play a pivotal role in guiding and developing the next generation of social work professionals. Each Senior Social Worker will support up to five NQSWs, offering hands-on practice support, reflective guidance, and professional development—complementing our ASYE Academy and Advanced Practitioner framework.
While Team Managers will retain supervisory responsibility, your role will focus on nurturing confident, skilled practitioners within our Child Protection and Court Teams.

What You'll Do:
* Support the development of NQSWs in conducting comprehensive assessments with children, young people, and families.
* Empower NQSWs to work with complex family circumstances, ensuring holistic planning and positive outcomes for children.
* Provide guidance and reflection to help NQSWs effectively safeguard children and implement service plans.
* Enhance report-writing skills by mentoring NQSWs in gathering, assessing, and analysing key information.
* Ensure timely intervention to prevent drift and delay for children.
* Fulfil statutory requirements to safeguard children and young people.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
* Qualified Social Worker with Senior Social Work experience.
* Registered with SW England.
* Experience working within Children and Family Services.
* Strong knowledge of legislation and guidance within children's social care.
* Ability to prioritise, analyse information, and make informed decisions.
* Capacity to support the professional development of others.
* Desirable: Experience in practice education.
