Job Description:
Our client in Oxford is looking to recruit Financial Assessment Officers to carry out the financial assessments of clients that are in the receipt of chargeable services provided by Adult Social Services in accordance with the Care Act 2014.

Main responsibilities of a Financial Assessment Officer:
* Obtain and verify financial information from clients and/or their representatives, and carry out financial assessments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Stay updated on charging regulations and procedures as per the Care Act 2014.
* Maintain knowledge of the State Benefit system and related legislation, advising clients and referring them to other agencies when appropriate.
* Inform clients of their contributions, invoicing procedures, and payment methods; handle queries related to assessments and invoices.
* Communicate assessment outcomes to colleagues in Adult Social Care and handle related queries.
* Follow procedures for re-assessment, including annual reviews, recording client deaths, raising final accounts, and managing overpayments.
* Assist in producing reports and developing the financial assessment team.
* Administer Deferred Interest Loans, including creating vendors, reviewing loans annually, and managing interest collection and loan redemption.
Qualifications and skills required:
* Maths and English GCSE at Grade A*-C or equivalent
* Good IT literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office
* Clear communication skills in person, by phone, and in writing
* Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work effectively
* Experience in dealing with the public
* Must have a DBS check
