Job Title: Housing Strategy Officer Directorate: Community & Housing Service Grade: 7 (£36,363 - £40,777) Contract type: Permanent Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council are looking for a full-time highly motivated Housing Strategy Officer with great communication and analytical skills to join its housing strategy team. The housing strategy team is a shared service, working across both local authority areas. Reporting to the Senior Strategy Housing Officer you will lead on various research and other projects required to take forward place shaping in both Bromsgrove District and Redditch Borough Council areas. Educated to level 4, or an equivalent qualification in a subject related to the role, you will have experience of managing projects and working with partner agencies to achieve common objectives. You will have experience of working in a political environment, including direct contact with elected members and an awareness of public sector funding. You will take responsibility for specific projects, working across teams and organisations as a reliable partner and ensuring the views and experiences of people using services are integral to your work. You will work to deadline, progressing projects to ensure delivery. You’ll need to be a good communicator and an organised and strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple areas of work. You will need to engage and build successful relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and partners. Key duties and responsibilities To lead on ad hoc research and project management, as required, to take forward place shaping in both Councils, including the collation of data for Government statistical returns To work with a range of partners and agencies to develop holistic approaches to homelessness, the prevention of homelessness and housing advice To support the development of key housing strategies and take responsibility in delivering actions and projects Manage and undertake research work aimed at developing an understanding of supply/demand issues across all housing tenures and client groups for both Councils. Ensure systems are in place and are operated and reviewed for the collection and monitoring of all internal and external housing performance information (e.g. performance indicators, statistics) To research and assess new legislation and guidance from central government and its impact on council activities To assist in the preparation of funding bids for affordable housing, support schemes and/or associated community projects.
