About The Role
At Salvation Army Homes, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, good quality housing services, support, and resettlement.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is attracted to working occasional shifts or for short-term periods in a mental health support setting.
Covering for absences of Mental Health Support Workers, such as during annual leave, vacant posts, training, sickness, etc., you will:
* Provide 1:1 and group support
* Support clients with attending appointments
* Assist with shopping
* Support clients in attending activities
* Assist with medication, where required
* Liaise with external agencies, including health professionals
You will also be involved, where possible, in helping to deliver activities designed to transition clients to independent living, aiming to provide a holistic mental health support service.
Successful candidates will be required to work in St Andrews in Exmouth and Culverlands in Exeter, covering a range of shifts including sleep-ins and weekends. Shifts may vary from 0800-1600, 1200-2000, 1000-1800, and 0900-2230 at both services.
About The Candidate
You should have a working knowledge of the needs and support requirements of people with complex mental health needs or experience working in another social care setting.
You will naturally work in a manner that aligns with Salvation Army Homes' values and behaviors, demonstrating energy, passion, and a positive, can-do attitude in your daily contributions to transforming lives.

* Good knowledge of wider community resources and organizations
* Comfortable dealing with difficult or complex situations
* Experience in mental health support, education, training, or leading activities is desirable
Ideally, you will be able to participate in our 24-hour shift rota system and on-call rota.
