Role: Mechanical Design Engineer

Duration: 12 months
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a small, high-calibre engineering team developing next-generation on-wing engine inspection technologies and automation solutions.
Key responsibilities:

Support mechanical engineering and production teams across a range of activities.
*
Create and update 3D CAD models and drawings.
*
Produce technical documentation, including SOPs, BoMs, QA and build notes.
*
Carry out mechanical testing, including thermal and robotic apparatus.
*
Support workshop activities, QA, 3D printing, and production jig design/setup.
*
Communicate clearly across technical and non-technical teams.
*
Travel occasionally within the UK to conduct product testing.
Essential experience:
*
CAD and technical drawing experience.
*
Workshop skills, including basic power and hand tools.
*
Experience in a production environment with tooling and documentation.
*
Working in small, fast-moving engineering teams.
*
QA, engineering verification and validation experience.
*
Agile and lean-focused environments.
Desirable:
*
3D printing (FDM / SLA).
*
Quality engineering experience, including CMM, gauges, and metrology.
Personal attributes:

*
Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.
*
Strong communicator and team player.
*
Highly organised, tidy, and precise.
