Overview
We have an exciting opportunity within the Facilities team, working as a chef at St Cadocs Hospital. The post holder will work as part of a team that provides catering duties throughout the catering operation. They will assist with the day to supervision and organisation of these services. This post is 25 hours per week to be worked as part of an internal shift pattern.
Responsibilities
* Plan team members' work schedules and resource requirements.
* Coordinate the work of the team to ensure team goals are reached.
* Produce all meals, snacks, salads, and sandwiches for patients, staff and visitors.
* Produce specialised dietary requirements in accordance with the pre-agreed menu.
* Liaise with nursing staff and Health Board dietitians regarding specialised dietary requirements.
* Supervise catering assistants regarding food preparation, regeneration and food provision for customers.
* Control food safety and quality through continuous monitoring of food temperature and correct catering operation in accordance with Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures and good working practice.
Working conditions
* Our services operate 24 hours a day over a 7 day period, which will require you to work unsociable hours including weekends and bank holidays.
Requirements
* A proactive and self-motivated individual who is confident to work on their own initiative, with flair and enthusiasm and the ability to empower the team.
* Ability to work as part of a team and manage multiple tasks in a clinical catering environment.
* The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
