Podiatry Team Lead

The closing date is 30 April 2026.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Podiatry Team Lead in Worcestershire, covering Kidderminster, Bromsgrove and Tenbury.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to provide excellent leadership within one of the community podiatry teams promoting clinical excellence across the county. You will be a compassionate, accountable individual who treats all colleagues, patients and service users with respect and seeks to deliver excellence in their role.

You will be provided with support and training to assist with the role as team lead including coaching and enhancing your leadership skills. Support will be provided by the other podiatry teams leads across the county.

You will be a key member of the podiatry service across Worcestershire. You should be an effective communicator with the drive and enthusiasm to work with your team members to expand their roles. You should be able to negotiate and collaborate effectively with senior clinicians and other team leads and facilitate the delivery of excellent care. You will also need to be able to manage information to inform service development and to demonstrate achievement of target.


Main duties of the job

* Act as a role model to colleagues, always seeking to maintain the highest standards of professionalism.
* Be responsible for the leadership of the Podiatry Team within Kidderminster, Bromsgrove and Tenbury.
* Contribute with other team leaders to the development of the Podiatry service across the county.
* Take responsibility for a delegated budget, performance management issues, recruitment and retention within a designated part of the service.
* Be responsible for the supervision and appraisal of senior Podiatrists within the team.
* Work as an autonomous practitioner to provide high quality patient focused care through assessment, development and delivery of individual intervention programmes.
* Manage concerns with team members’ performance/absence in line with the Trust policies. Ensure service continuity through monitoring leave and sickness and highlight issues.
* Ensure that key performance indicators are met within the team around patient waiting times. Contribute to the prioritisation and allocation of referrals and caseloads for all members of the team. Ensure that the allocation of staff, duty rotas and annual leave entitlement is sufficient to meet service needs and report problematic staffing levels to the appropriate manager.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Degree in Podiatry
* HCPC registration
* Evidence of relevant post graduate courses / CPD maintained in portfolio
* Will provide original certificates to verify qualifications at point of offer
* Relevant validated clinical leadership course


Additional Criteria

* Committed to service development
* Ability to meet travel requirements of the post


Experience

* A minimum of 5 years post graduate experience including work in a variety of specialities
* Experience of leadership
* Experience of supervision of junior staff and students
* Experience of audit


Skills & Abilities

* Ability to challenge poor behaviour
* Effective time management
* A positive attitude and ability to act on feedback


Knowledge

* Excellent knowledge of Podiatry in relevant areas
* Knowledge of IT skills

£49,387 to £56,515 a year pro rata for part time
