Pay: Up to £16.00 per hour (based on experience)
Job Title: CNC Lathe Setter Operator
Hours: 39 hours per week
* Monday to Wednesday: 07:30 – 16:30
* Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00
* Friday: 07:30 – 13:00
Reports To: Machine Shop Supervisor
Role Overview
As a CNC Lathe Setter Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating 2 and 3 axis lathes, producing small to medium batches efficiently and to high standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Set and operate CNC lathes; programming experience is advantageous but not essential
* Inspect finished parts using various measuring instruments
* Conduct first-off inspections on machines
* Adjust machine settings confidently with minimal supervision
* Maintain tooling and replace inserts as needed
* Perform deburring operations as required
* Carry out basic machine maintenance
* Operate overhead cranes (training provided)
Requirements and Skills
* Minimum 2 years’ experience operating CNC lathes with Fanuc controls
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team
* Good understanding of technical drawings
* Strong adherence to health and safety regulations
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
