We’re looking for a Social Media Executive to join our team in November for a 6‑month fixed‑term contract.
As a key member of the social media team, you will make Wickes relevant for the next generation of DIY lovers, bring to life our Kitchen and Bathroom proposition, and highlight our great offers and discounts for the Trade.

Responsibilities
* Ideate and create a compelling content plan that aligns with our business objectives and engages customers across all of our social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Pinterest and more.
* Responsible for organic content creation (including copywriting and editing images/videos/reels/stories) with a focus on the DIY and trade side of the business. Work with our in‑house studio team to create content from brief to delivery.
* Schedule content to post across all of our social media platforms, ensuring it’s relevant, engaging and 100% accurate.
* Encourage our customers to share their DIY and Kitchen & Bathroom projects with us on social media, championing their images and videos across our marketing channels. Curate UGC content for use across our channels.
* Be immersed in the social media world, keep an eye on trends, and proactively suggest relevant content ideas.
* Produce an insightful monthly organic report, sharing successes and learnings with internal stakeholders.
* Assist in the execution of our social media competitions.
* Support the social media team with paid and organic marketing campaigns.
* Assist in responding to requests from influencers and content creators.
* Act as the first line of response for our community management colleagues, handling all comments and queries across social media and review platforms.
Qualifications
* At least 1 year+ of social media experience in a professional or work context.
* Ideally a graduate with a business or marketing degree (or similar).
* Incredibly organised, reliable and responsive.
* Proactive and able to juggle multiple projects.
* Proficient in content creation platforms such as Canva or Adobe Express.
* A natural networker – outgoing, confident and great at building relationships.
* Quick to pick things up and enjoys the dynamic pace that retail offers.
* Comfortable creating and featuring in video content – from TikToks to Reels.
* Great at writing copy tailored to each platform.
* Meticulous attention to detail.
* Good analytical skills with the ability to draw insight from data.
* A team player.
* Happy to be flexible and get involved in any task where we may need you.
* Comfortable using social media content and planning tools such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite or Sprout Social (beneficial).
