Location: Richmond, VA.
High Level Project Overview
* This role will organize and maintain documents associated with design, engineering, and construction within the Power Generation Sector of client.
* This role will focus on the Civil, Structural, Architectural, and Mechanical Engineering Disciplines. (This is NOT an electrical design position).
* Organizes and maintains drawings, prints, diagrams, & PDF documents.
* Works closely with other designers, engineers, and power station personnel to perform CAD drafting tasks.
* Compiles and organizes submittal drawings and documents from 3rd party vendors and consultants.
* Locates, modifies, and manipulates CAD files in order to print drawings using small and large format plotters.
Top Required Skills
* Basic knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, or mechanical drafting principles.
* Basic knowledge of structural and mechanical design/construction principles.
* Good analytical and abstract thinking skills with the ability to process detailed information.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent computer skills.
* Ability to process and understand complex diagrams and process flow drawings.
* Ability to use Microsoft office suite of software.
* Ability to use AutoCAD software.
* Ability to use MicroStation software.
Soft Skills
* Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
* Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
Education
* Minimum: High School Graduate.
* Preferred: Associate degree.
Certification Requirements
* Must be able to actively show experience with AutoCAD & MicroStation software.
Preferred Years of Experience
* Drafter I: 1-3 years of basic experience.
* Drafter II: 4-5 years of experience.
