Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our Borders team as a Support and Development Worker. You will collaborate with the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Team Leader and the Borders Team to develop and deliver a comprehensive 1:1 and group work programme for residents across the Scottish Borders.
Your responsibilities will include developing and delivering group sessions on topics such as stress management, anxiety, resilience, and mental health recovery. You will work closely with other Support and Development Workers and professionals to design evidence-based support services that address relevant issues for the community. You will be responsible for creating and implementing a structured recovery-oriented group work programme accessible both online and in person across the Scottish Borders.
You will also manage a caseload of individuals, supporting them on a 1:1 basis to identify strengths, set goals, and realize potential. Support may involve confidence building, self-management techniques, signposting to additional support, and planning.
Administrative tasks, including maintaining records in accordance with data protection policies and using IT tools like Microsoft Office, are part of the role.
Maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, partners, and professionals is essential. Experience in developing and facilitating individual and group support services is preferred.
If you have experience supporting mental health and wellbeing or personal experience managing your own mental health, we would love to hear from you!
Travel across the Scottish Borders is required, and flexible working hours are expected to meet the needs of the community.
