Advert We are seeking an experienced and motivated Estates Officer (Electrical) to join our Estates & Facilities team at UHS Estates Limited. This is a key operational role supporting the safe, compliant and effective running of our hospital estate. You will help manage and maintain the electrical services on site at Southampton General Hospital and Princess Anne Hospital. You will work within the Electrical team, managing a group of electrical technicians/supervisors and working with our mechanical team, building services, contractors and various stakeholders, ensuring high standards of performance, safety, and value for money. Manage the Electrical Team and ensure they undertake all Statutory and Mandatory PPM and Reactive Maintenance. Monitor and maintain KPI’s within the target limit. Manage contractors. Provide temporary support to the other band 6 managers within the Estates maintenance Team. Provide technical support to the team What we’re looking for HNC/Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field Have vast experience and technical knowledge on Electrical Systems and HVAC Computer literacy, including the MS Office suite and Planet FM (training provided if required) Understanding of Health and Safety requirements, including risk assessments and method statements Able to supervise/manage a team Have a Flexible approach to working Have a thorough understanding of BS 7671 (2008) 18th edition (includes the latest edition) Participate in the Engineers’ on-call rota Desirable Previous experience within Healthcare Engineering Previous experience working with electrical safe isolation and issuing permits to work Experience in other associated trade disciplines Managerial experience Inspection and Testing Medical Gases HV installations. Core working hours 0730-1530 Monday- Friday, however the successful applicant will be expected to participate in an on-call roster currently 1 day in 11 Weekday on-call requires site attendance 1400-2200hrs and 2200-0730hrs from home. Week end on-call requires site attendance 0730-1530hrs (paid as overtime at 1½ or lieu) and on-call from home 1530-0730hrs.
