We are seeking a highly analytical and motivated graduate to join our London-based equity hedge fund to train as an Equity Research Analyst, with 1-2 years work experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting fundamental analysis, tracking equity capital markets transaction flow and supporting portfolio management decisions across global equity markets. This role would suit a graduate with up to 2 years post graduation experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Research & Analysis
* Conduct comprehensive fundamental analysis of IPO candidates across regions
* Join information meetings with prospective issuers, and prepare feedback on business model and valuation
* Use team financial models (DCF, comparable company analysis, sum-of-the-parts) to contribute to transaction investment decisions
* Monitor and update investment theses based on new information and market developments
Idea Generation & Presentation
* Present investment cases to portfolio managers and investment committee
* Prepare detailed investment memos outlining thesis, catalysts, risks, and position sizing recommendations
* Participate in weekly research meetings and contribute to team discussions
Portfolio Support
* Monitor existing positions and provide ongoing analysis and recommendations
* Track key performance indicators and catalysts for portfolio holdings
* Assist with position sizing, entry/exit timing, and risk management
* Conduct post-mortem analysis on investment outcomes
Market Intelligence
* Stay current on macroeconomic trends, sector developments, and market dynamics
* Build and maintain relationships with sell-side syndicate desks, company management, and industry experts
* Attend investor conferences, earnings calls, and industry events
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Educational Background
* Bachelor's degree and strong academic record from a top-tier university
* At least one internship during your degree period with either an asset management company or an investment bank in a front office role
Technical Skills
* Training
